Acceptable Use Policy

Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines what you can and cannot transfer using LetShareIt. LetShareIt is a zero-knowledge encrypted file transfer service we cannot inspect your file contents, but we can and do act on credible reports of misuse, automated hash-based malware detection, and legal obligations. Violations may result in immediate account suspension, permanent termination, and referral to law enforcement.

Prohibited Uses

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and potential legal referral:

Malware, Ransomware & Malicious Files Uploading or distributing files containing viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, or any code designed to damage systems, steal data, or take control of devices. We perform automated hash-based scanning on all uploads.

Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) Any content that sexually exploits or depicts minors in any form. Violations are detected, immediately actioned, and reported to NCMEC and relevant law enforcement. There is no tolerance or appeals process for CSAM.

Stolen Data & Credential Dumps Transferring databases of stolen credentials, personal data obtained without authorisation, scraped private information, or files exfiltrated from systems you do not have permission to access.

Phishing Kits & Social Engineering Assets Using LetShareIt to distribute phishing pages, fake login forms, brand impersonation assets, or any files designed to deceive recipients into surrendering credentials or personal information.

Non-Consensual Intimate Images Uploading or sharing intimate images of any person without their explicit, documented consent. This includes digitally manipulated imagery.

Intellectual Property Infringement Distributing copyrighted films, music, software, ebooks, or other protected works without a valid licence. LetShareIt complies with DMCA takedown requests within 48 hours.

Weapons & Dangerous Materials Files containing instructions, designs, or source code related to weapons of mass destruction, untraceable firearms, explosive devices, or controlled substances synthesis.

Platform Abuse & Infrastructure Attacks Automated scraping of the platform, DDoS or stress-testing against LetShareIt infrastructure, attempts to bypass rate limits, storage quotas, or file size enforcement, and interference with other users' transfers.

Restricted Uses

The following are permitted under specific conditions. Misuse of these categories may result in account restrictions:

High-Volume Automated Transfers Programmatic or API-driven transfers above 10,000 files/day or 2 TB/month require a prior enterprise agreement. Contact sales before building automated pipelines at scale.

Sensitive Personal Data (PII) Transferring files containing personal data (medical records, government IDs, financial statements) is permitted, but you are solely responsible for ensuring proper consent, legal basis (e.g. GDPR), and data processing agreements with recipients.

Public Media Distribution at Scale LetShareIt is designed for point-to-point transfers, not mass-broadcast delivery. Using share links in public campaigns reaching over 50,000 downloads/day requires a CDN agreement with our team.

Jurisdictionally Restricted Content Some file types (encryption software, dual-use technology, certain research data) may be subject to export controls or local law. You are responsible for complying with all applicable regulations in your jurisdiction.

Permitted Uses

LetShareIt is designed for the following uses:

Business Document Transfer Sending contracts, proposals, invoices, NDAs, reports, and other business documents to clients, partners, or colleagues. Encrypted transfer means sensitive documents never travel over unprotected email.

Large Media & Creative Files Transferring high-resolution video footage, RAW photography, design source files (PSD, AI, Figma exports), audio masters, and 3D render assets. LetShareIt supports files up to 50 GB on Team plans.

Engineering & Technical Deliverables Sharing build artifacts, compiled binaries, CAD files, firmware packages, dataset exports, and code archives with internal teams or external clients.

Client File Collection via Requests Using File Requests to gather files from clients such as signed documents, media submissions, onboarding materials, or project assets via a single shareable link that requires no account.

Secure Handoff of Sensitive Documents Transferring files that require confidentiality legal documents, financial records, HR files, medical imagery using password-protected, expiring links with download-once options.

Team & Workspace File Sharing Sharing files within a Team Workspace shared storage, granular member permissions, and a unified transfer history for your whole organisation.

Enforcement

We review reported violations and may take action including: warning and requiring content removal, temporary account suspension, permanent account termination, reporting to law enforcement, and civil legal action. We use automated scanning to detect known malware and CSAM (using hash-matching against known databases). We do not scan file contents beyond this your files are encrypted and private.

Reporting Violations

To report a violation, email support@letshareit.com with the share link and a description. We review all reports within 24 hours. For CSAM reports, we have a zero-tolerance policy and will act immediately.

Copyright & DMCA

If you believe your copyrighted content is being shared on LetShareIt without authorization, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to support@letshareit.com. Include: identification of the copyrighted work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact information, a statement of good faith belief, and your electronic signature. We will process valid notices within 48 hours.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform and legal requirements evolve. We will notify users of material changes with at least 14 days notice before they take effect.
